First off I want to thank everyone who came out to the show last night. Wow, what an awesome time it was. I was so encouraged to see how God moved through the music. And what an awesome crowd we had; you guys were so great! You inspired the band tremendously and we just had such an awesome time playing for you. I want to thank everybody who made that show happen, all of our staff that sacrificed so much, our photographer Paul Hartung, the Frankie Family, Scotty and the rest of you from Sandy Assembly of God. You guys were all so great and it was such an honor to work with you.
I would love to hear feedback from those that were at the show and have our sampler. But for those that did not get a copy of our cd you can download it for free on our website www.thesoulprinciple.com! And as soon as I get the pictures from our photographer I will post some here on the blog.

The Devotion Campaign

Come one come all,

We (Thesoulprinciple) are playing the second show of the devotion campaign tour! The show is in two days, that is this Saterday September 9th @ 6 o'clock pm. The concert will be held at the Sandy Assembly of God, 3900 hwy 26 Sandy, OR 97055. Friends, this show is the release of the of our first sampler! We recorded our original composition "My Majesty". The Devotion Campaign

The second show is on the way, and this Friday we are going to release our first single! We have spent over 24 hours in studio and recorded "My Majesty"! I am so exited to release this song, this is one that Nate Wrote the lyrics to about 2 years ago and then we wrote the music just after that. We had an awesome recording technician Steven Edmonds, he worked so hard at making this recording. We are all so thankful to him.
The show is at Sandy Assembly of God this Friday at 6:00 pm, at 3900 hwy 26, Sandy, OR 97055. We are going to have tons of our single on cd to give away! Come to the TheSoulPrinciple on The Devotion Campaign Tour, be passonate, be devoted, be changed!

Update

Hey,

A lot has happened since the last update that Nate Posted! He went and returned from Russia, played two shows there and did a ton of street evangalizing. I am sure that He will have a lot more to say about that in the future! As far as TheSoulPrinciple goes; we are playing a concert that is free to the public, so come and see... "TheSoulPrinciple; A Time To Unite". We are being hosted by the "Sandy Assembly of God located at 3900 Hwy 26 at the east end of Sandy 97055. This is a gathering of youth groups in the Sandy area but the show is open to the public! It will start at six o'clock on Saterday September 9th so come and bring your friends!
Right now Nate is working in Seatle and will be there until Thursday so we have been having practices without him (it is really weird :) and next week Ian and Craig head out to California for a short term mission trip that our church does every year. They will be gone for a week, so we are a little crunched on time but by God's grace we will survive and be ready for the show.
I just returned from the Soverign Grace worship conference held in Maryland, wow it was so rich. God really used that conference to open my eyes to truths that I have never seen before so I can't help but share them. The first is the simple yet completely complex fact that all of God's wrath was completly poured out onto His son Jesus Christ, who was willing to take such wrath out of love for us, complete sinners. Just being reminded of that blows me away and makes me so grateful. But I also learned to expect God's presence in His church. This was an eye opener for me, I think that I am not alone in that going to curch becomes such a routine thing that I forget God said in His word that He is there and ready to commune with us every Sunday. Not to say that we cannot commune with God when we are not at church, no; not at all. That is the amazing God we serve, ready to be with us anytime anywhere. But there is a special significance to the church in God's eyes. So many times I miss out on that and just let Sunday morning be another day. That was one thing that I learned from the conference, the rest of the conference was so amazing as well. God really used it.
Well I am totally stoked to see how God is going to use the show on September 9th. I do expect His presence there and look forward to it endlesly. I hope to see you there...

:: Update ::

Alright everyone, I've got some good news and some bad news...

THE GOOD NEWS:
I will be leaving early tomorrow morning on a missions trip to Smolensk, Russia. So if you all could be praying for me I would surely appreciate that. One thing to remember is that it's about a 10-12 hour difference over there so if your praying for me at 10:00 am, its about 8-10:00 at night! CRAZY!

As for what i will be doing...

First I'm really excited because I was put in charge of heading up "the band." Yes, I'm apart of another band besides TheSoulPrinciple! (don't tell Harlan... he'd have a fit!)
So as a band, we will have two large scale concerts in an auditorium/hall that the local missionaries have rented, and then we will also play at a local cafe. Those are the planned events... Another half of our team will be doing dramas at various places (churches, parks, the cafe, etc.) and the band will probably have to play at these events also... so its a pretty big undertaking! But God is good!!!

THE BAD NEWS:
I guess this is might be considered part of the good news, but I will be gone for two whole weeks! That means I won't be able to update the blog... particularly with concert pictures!

Hey All,


I thought that I would give you a general update on the band and what is going on after the debut of TheSoulPrinciple and The Devotion Campaign. First off let me say that all of the band members are still so exieted about how the show went and how God used it. It just exites me to know that God will use us and what He gave us for His glory. That is just another example of his grace. We ended up getting the pictures of the show just the other day and they turned out so well. But on top of that two of my best friends made us a DVD of the entire show! It was so great and I am so thankful to have that to look back on.
As for what is currently going on with the band; Nate and I having been getting together and working hard on new songs! We feel like God wants us to continue write and we are starting to see the fruit of doing so! And we are really seeking out what the next major move for the band is going to be. We want to be sure that we are doing what God wants us to and not what we feel like we should do. Nate and I did have a meeting with our pastor, Gregg Harris and he gave us amazing insight and awesome encourgments so there is a lot to think and pray about. Though I truly can't wait to see what God is going to do with TheSoulPrinciple. God is so good and I encourage you; Devote yourselves completly to Him. This has been on my heart and I have been writing about this in my songs. I will leave you with the verse that is our theme on the Devotion Campaign. Philippians 3:13-14 ...Forgetting what is behind I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Thank you all so much for your support at our debut concert! Not only was it amazing to see God moving in our midst, but we had a blast playing for you. You were a wonderful audience and we look forward to our next concert (we will keep you in touch as far as that goes…)
